Liam “L” Fleming (they/them) creates and performs dance in their hometown Chicago. After attending Chicago’s High School for the Arts, Liam lived in Milwaukee, training and performing in modern, site-specific works with somatic approach. They returned to Chicago in 2019 and joined work study at Lou Conte Dance Studio. While their focus has primarily been training, Liam is inspired by collaborating with Chicago’s dance and trans* artists, and creating interdisciplinary performance. In the start of the new year, Liam interned with the production staff of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and is now continuing their work in arts administration with Chicago Dancemakers Forum. In the future, Liam hopes to help preserve archival dance and create new work all over the country.
