Lane Alexander, Founder and Director of the Chicago Human Rhythm Project and the American Rhythm Center, is a master teacher, performer, choreographer and community organizer. Lane has performed Morton Gould’s Tap Dance Concerto at Carnegie Hall, London’s Royal Festival Hall, Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall and the Hollywood Bowl et al. Lane co-produced the Emmy-nominated PBS documentary JUBA! and directed the first full-length tap concert at the Kennedy Center. Lane received an NEA American Masterpieces grant and two IAC Choreography Fellowships, choreographed the second national tour of The Tap Dance Kid and was the Tap Master for Billy Elliot.
