La Vuelta Ensemble is a POC-led company born in 2013 to Puerto Rican artists Jean Carlos Claudio and Raquel Torre. After two years of education in multiple disciplines in Buenos Aires, Argentina, they returned to their homeland with the name of Circo La Vuelta, where they established themselves in the circus and performance circuit of the island, creating 3 full shows and a catalogue of short pieces. Settling in Chicago in 2016, the company underwent a rebranding and restructuring to better accommodate their work in the city, their work transitioning from circus and street-performance to ensemble-based devised theatre exploring high physicality and delightful absurdity. Settling in the Puerto Rican and Hispanic hotspot, Humboldt Park, they connected with UrbanTheater Company and the Puerto Rican Cultural Center for work and guidance, further influencing them to define themselves as a community-rooted collective.

La Vuelta Ensemble explores the connection between personal and collective themes in a multidisciplinary performance involving circus, music, visual art, dance, and physical theatre.

UrbanTheater Company is committed to centralizing the power and talents that are innate in every person to tell their communities stories. They serve as a pipeline for a diverse and culturally specific collective of Chicago actors, designers, and producers who embrace the responsibility to create an environment full of honesty, integrity, representation, and acceptance. They create innovative and accessible theater that challenges Eurocentric styles and training.

La Vuelta Ensemble es una compañía dirigida por personas de color, originada en el 2013 por los artistas puertorriqueños Jean Carlos Claudio y Raquel Torre. Después de dos años de formación en múltiples disciplinas en Buenos Aires, Argentina, regresaron a su tierra natal bajo el nombre de Circo La Vuelta, donde se establecieron en el circuito de circo y artes escénicas de la isla, creando 3 espectáculos completos y un catálogo de piezas breves. Al instalarse en Chicago en el 2016, la compañía pasó por un cambio de imagen y una reestructuración para adaptar mejor su trabajo a la ciudad; un trabajo que pasó del circo y el arte escénica callejera al teatro concebido como un conjunto que explora una absurdidad encantadora mediante un alto nivel de fisicalidad. Al echar raíces en Humboldt Park, foco de la cultura puertorriqueña e hispana en Chicago, establecieron una relación con UrbanTheater Company y el Centro Cultural Puertorriqueño para trabajo y orientación, lo que les influenció aún más para definirse como un colectivo arraigado en la comunidad.

La Vuelta Ensemble explora el nexo entre los temas personales y colectivos a través de una presentación multidisciplinaria conformada por una mezcla de circo, música, arte visual, danza y teatro físico.

UrbanTheater Company se dedica a centralizar el poder y los talentos que son innatos en cada persona para contar las historias de sus comunidades. Sirven de fuente para un colectivo diverso y culturalmente específico de actores, diseñadores y productores de Chicago que acogen la responsabilidad de crear un ambiente lleno de sinceridad, integridad, representación y aceptación. Crean un teatro innovador y accesible que desafía la formación y los estilos eurocéntricos.
