Since 2015, Cameron has been an independent performing arts consultant working in Chicago, moving to freelance work after a decade of full-time roles, including managing performance programs at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. He believes that the performing arts have a special and unique ability to build community and promote empathy and he strives to support them in any way he can.
He has worked with organizations of all sizes and done it all: from deep engagement projects (think strategic planning, organizational development, and grant strategy), to operational day-of-show problem solving (like house-managing and artist management). He has also produced many large-scale performance programs and festivals, and is an occasional artistic collaborator, playing piano for vocalists in the queer community and creating and preparing food experiences for performance projects.
His greatest professional passion is helping both nonprofit and for-profit small businesses find clarity, transparency, and empowerment through comprehensive financial management. He is a certified bookkeeper, a budget whiz, and believes most questions can be answered by looking at the numbers.
