ELEVATE CHICAGO DANCE 2018
BREAK OUT! 2013
LAB ARTIST 2005
Asimina Chremos continues to reinvent her artistic career on a unique, exploratory path. She performed as a soloist and corps de ballet member of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater under Patricia Wilde in the 1980’s; created a femme-drag performance-artist persona in Philadelphia in the 1990’s; and refined a personal improvisational movement language and performance practice through collaborations with Chicago musicians in the 2000’s. Her 2005 CDF Lab Artist work, Zeibekika, explored her paternal Greek heritage. Freeform lace crochet and grantwriting support for artist-led ventures are more recent outgrowths of Asimina’s ever-evolving, multifaceted creative expression and ongoing service to the field.
